Hvillas began in 2009 with a single technician, a second-hand van and one rule: quote the job, not the hour. It came from watching too many neighbours open an invoice that had grown while somebody stood in their basement.
Fifteen years on, the rule has not changed and neither has the way we hire. Every technician is on our payroll rather than a subcontractor's, which is why the same face tends to come back for your next service call — and why we can put a workmanship guarantee behind work we actually supervised.
We install high-efficiency furnaces, cold-climate heat pumps, air conditioning, ventilation and air quality systems across the Greater Toronto Area and the Ottawa region, for houses and for the businesses that cannot afford to close.

Every technician on your property is on our payroll, background-checked and Red Seal certified or apprenticing under someone who is. We do not subcontract, and we do not hire seasonal help to cover a busy December.
Every install starts with a CSA F280 heat-loss calculation. It takes an extra hour and occasionally costs us the bigger sale — but an oversized furnace short-cycles, wears out early and heats unevenly, and we would rather not be the ones who put it there.
We quote the job, not the hour, and the number is in writing before anyone picks up a tool. If the work takes longer than we estimated, that is our problem to absorb, not a line item added to your invoice.
The emergency line rings a technician, not a call centre, at every hour of every day of the year. In January that is the only promise on this page that really matters.
2009
Founded in Toronto's west end doing furnace repairs, mostly on referrals from a single plumbing contractor.
2014
First rooftop units for a café group that needed the work done overnight — the start of a business we now run across the GTA.
2019
Retrained the whole crew as the technology matured enough for Canadian winters. Today it is a third of what we install.
2023
Opened a second shop on Preston Street with its own crew, dispatch and stocked vans — not a satellite office.
